Rapid suburban growth in the Sacramento region

Roseville is one of the fastest-growing suburbs in the Sacramento region, with population growth accelerating since the 1990s.

Roseville's explosive growth began in the 1990s as families and businesses were drawn to the area by lower costs and suburban amenities compared to the Bay Area. The city's population grew from under 45,000 in 1990 to over 140,000 today, making it one of the fastest-growing cities in the Sacramento metropolitan area. Much of this growth came from residential development and the arrival of new employers.

The rapid expansion reflects broader migration patterns to the Sacramento region, as the cost of living and housing in coastal California pushed newcomers inland. Roseville attracted young families seeking space and affordability, creating an influx of working-age households with mortgages, children, and long-term financial obligations.

Rapid growth in a community means many households are young and in their primary earning and family-building years. That is precisely the season when life insurance protection matters most—when a family has taken on obligations that would hurt the surviving household if a wage earner were no longer there.
