No-exam life insurance
Who qualifies, how fast decisions happen, and what you can expect if an exam is needed.
Many carriers now use accelerated underwriting: applicants within set age and amount thresholds receive decisions based on your application, pharmacy records, driving history, and other data—without a medical visit. Approvals sometimes arrive the same day. Each quote on this site indicates whether a carrier needs an exam, might request one, or can decide without one for your situation.
What it changes
Accelerated underwriting still means underwriting. The carrier verifies your answers and may rescind a policy issued on false information within its first two years. If underwriting surfaces concerns, they may ask for an exam or tests before approval; you can decline at that point.
Who tends to qualify
Usually, applicants in their 50s or younger, seeking amounts below the carrier's accelerated limits, with no serious health history and no tobacco use in the past year—or a recent doctor's visit with bloodwork the carrier will accept.
Should a carrier request an exam, a paramedic typically visits your Roseville residence or workplace for a brief 20- to 30-minute appointment at no charge to you. For healthy applicants, test results often secure a better rate class, making the exam a potentially positive step rather than a setback.
